Animal sacrifice, known as Qurbani or Udhiyah, is a deeply significant act in Islam performed during the days of Eid al-Adha. It commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to Allah’s command. However, Allah replaced his son with a ram, symbolizing divine mercy. The sacrifice reflects devotion, humility, and charity.
The meat from the sacrificed animal is typically divided into three parts: one-third for the family, one-third for friends and relatives, and one-third for those in need. This distribution promotes social welfare and ensures that the blessings of Eid are shared widely, especially with those who may not have regular access to nutritious food. The act of Qurbani is both a remembrance of faith and a means of supporting the community.

Last year, your Qurbani donations brought relief and dignity to families in crisis across regions like Bangladesh, Rohingya, Uganda etc.
With your support, in 2025, Being Humanitarian reached over 3.2 million people across 29 countries—delivering fresh Qurbani meat to those who rarely have access to it.
In 2026, the need is still urgent. Millions of families are struggling to put food on the table, and for many, Eid passes without the joy of a proper meal. Your Qurbani can change that—bringing nourishment, hope, and a reminder that they are not forgotten.
This Eid, fulfil your Qurbani with Being Humanitarian and reach those who need it most, wherever they are.
Qurbani means sacrifice. Each year, during the blessed month of Dhul Hijjah, Muslims around the world honour the devotion of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), who was willing to sacrifice his son Ismail (AS) for the sake of Allah.
Following this tradition, an animal such as a goat, sheep, cow, or camel is sacrificed, and the meat is shared with those who are most in need—ensuring that even the most vulnerable families can take part in the joy of Eid.
In 2026, Being Humanitarian aims to reach even more communities facing hardship through its Qurbani programme.
By giving your Qurbani through Being Humanitarian, you help bring food, dignity, and happiness to families who rarely get to enjoy a meal with meat—making Eid truly special for them.

Allah (SWT) says in the Holy Qur’an:
So turn in prayer towards your Lord and sacrifice. – Qur’an | 108:2
Today, an estimated 318 million people are facing severe levels of hunger, according to the World Food Programme. Your Qurbani can make a real difference—providing a nutritious meal to families who would otherwise go without this Eid.
The first 10 days of Dhul Hijjah are among the most blessed days of the year, beloved to Allah (SWT). By giving your Qurbani during this sacred time, you can multiply your rewards and bring relief to those in need.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said:
There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these 10 days – Hadith | Sahih al-Bukhari
Being Humanitarian follows a clear and transparent criteria-based system to identify those most in need of Qurbani support. A structured scoring approach is used to ensure assistance reaches the most vulnerable families.
Priority is given to:
Families living below the minimum income level in their country
Female-headed households
Households with elderly or disabled members
Families with children under the age of 5
Pregnant women
Breastfeeding mothers
Families with limited or no access to local markets
Our teams carry out detailed, on-ground assessments to evaluate each of these factors. This ensures a fair and unbiased selection process, so Qurbani reaches those who need it most with dignity and care.
Qurbani is carried out after the Eid prayer in each country where Being Humanitarian operates. The sacrifice begins after the Eid al-Adha prayer on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah and continues until sunset on the 13th of Dhul Hijjah.
There is a scholarly difference of opinion on whether Qurbani should be performed over 3 or 4 days. To respect this, Being Humanitarian aims to complete all Qurbani within the first 3 days. However, in regions where it is religiously accepted—and where necessary for operational reasons—distribution may extend into the fourth day.
If you donate your Qurbani during these days, you can be assured it will be carried out on time, as animals are arranged and prepared in advance to ensure timely sacrifice and distribution.
